Frank Kane has developed a unique method for working with the voice that can have a powerful impact on everyone from first-time to experienced singers. His 30-year study of embodied resonance and vibration in Georgian traditional singing, along with his background in body work practices, have led him to a teaching approach that is kind, playful, transformative and insightful.
This workshop included learning selected Georgian songs and exploring vocal exercises for the purpose of gaining a deeper and more enriching experience of our voices and ourselves.

Malkhaz Erkvanidze is a key figure in the folk and sacred music revival in Georgia.
In 1988, he formed the ensemble Anchiskhati, a remarkable group dedicated to nearly-forgotten folk and chant traditions of pre-Communist Georgia.
Malkhaz is currently director of the renowned ensemble Sakhioba.

For this event, part of the ICA's Foreignness of Sound series, Polish artist Zorka Wollny collaborated with Maspindzeli on a musical composition and live acoustic performance that explored the relationship between language, sound and communication using a combination of polyphonic singing, folk repertoire, intonations, accents, pitch and modulations.
